Who says the park closes at sundown? On Saturday, July 16 Ithaca’s two all-women roller derby teams will be keeping Cass Park Rink alive into the night for the first double header of the 2011 season: The SufferJets take on Buffalo’s allstar team, the Lake Effect Furies, and The BlueStockings face off with The Hellbilly Heartbreakers from Olean, N.Y. The SufferJets get their chance to serve up a long awaited answer to a narrow loss to Buffalo early last year. The BlueStockings will hit the track to send Olean right back to heartbreak hotel for the second time this season.
Get your tailgate party on and get ready for heart-pounding, nonstop action–come be a part of the most exciting nightlife this town has to offer!
The ILWR is pleased to donate a portion of the bout proceeds to the the Dispositional Alternatives Program of Family & Children’s Service of Ithaca, supporting Tompkins County at-risk youth, ages 7–18, to prevent further legal or DSS involvement and avoid out-of-home placement.
