The Ithaca League of Women Rollers is hosting the opening game of their seventh season at Cass Park Rink on Saturday, May 10th. In a double-header evening, the BlueStockings will face off against the Yankee Brutals of the Connecticut Roller Girls followed by the SufferJets taking on the Lake Effect Furies of Buffalo’s Queen City Roller Girls.
Don’t miss out on this hometown roller derby bout as high-flying action, a roaring crowd and serious competition will bring out the best on the track. Come for the smash-ups, but stay for the serious heart-thumping, fast paced, amazing strategy and skilled skating prowess.
Currently ranked 79, the SufferJets last played the Lake Effect Furies, ranked at 50, in 2013. The Furies took the win by 66 points. But the SufferJets have been working hard, and are looking for payback on the track!
The action takes place at Cass Park rink on Saturday, May 10, at Cass Park Rink on 701 Taughannock Blvd., in Ithaca. Doors open at 5:00 PM and first whistle is at 6:00PM.
Everyone is invited to the after party at The Dock (formerly Castaways), located at 415 Taughannock Blvd.
A portion of the bout’s proceeds will be given to the Ithaca Children’s Garden.
