Too young to vote, but ready to roll? The Ithaca League of Women Rollers (ILWR) is bringing junior derby back to Ithaca this July. ILWR’s SufferJets and BlueStockings invite Ithaca’s newest roller girls—aged 8–12 and 13–17—to join them on the track, where they will learn powerful skating skills, build fitness, and enjoy a fun, confidence-building team experience.
The junior derby season will run from July 12 to September 10. Dues for this session are $150 and include a t-shirt. Mandatory USARS insurance is an additional $35 (unless you are a returning skater.
Skaters must provide their own skates and protective gear.
Need-based scholarships may be available. Register by July 1 to take part in Ithaca’s exciting team sport adventure. Junior derby leagues are springing up across the country. The girls play a safe, light contact game modified from adult women’s rules. Be the first on your block to become a roller derby star!
