Bringing new members into the league is always an exciting time, and this week we are happy to announce the following skaters have passed their Level 1 skills test and are joining as league members as they continue on to Level 2 training: Amber, Malinda “Sally Maehem”, Rachel, Megan, Hanna Solo, Veronica, and Heidi “Loco Rococo”.
Graduating from Level 1 skills earlier this fall were Joe “Trannysaurus Wrex” and Kelli! And training in Level 2s since this summer we have enjoyed the awesome addition of: Maren “Frida Thrasher”, Trish, Lindsay “Shafter Party”, Â and Rebecca “Riot Angel”.
We are also pleased to announced a new referee-in-training: Chris (aka the brewer of our Hell on Wheels Wit at Rogues’ Harbor). Congrats ladies and gentlemen!
Ithaca League of Women Rollers recently kicked off the off-season with their first ever co-ed scrimmage.  Members of the Ithaca GunShow men’s roller derby league invited ILWR to play some roller derby this month.  The GunShow will also participate in their first bout this weekend in Oneonta as part of a halftime expo, joined by members of other men’s league’s in New York.  Good luck guys!
Meanwhile our junior rollers are tearing up the track! Every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7:30 pm skaters ages 8-17 enjoy learning the sport of roller derby, hanging out with friends and getting mad skills on skates! Next open recruitment night is Tuesday, December 4. Register online!
