SufferJets May 14 2016

Ithaca League of Women Rollers, Ithaca’s premier all-female flat track roller derby league, announces its home season opener. The 77 ranked Ithaca SufferJets will compete against the 98 ranked Lansing Derby Vixens from Michigan on Saturday, May 14, 7pm. While our home rink at Cass Park is being renovated, the SufferJets will face the Vixens at the J.M. McDonald Sports Complex (4292 Fairgrounds Dr, Cortland, NY 13045). The short drive will bring you all the same intense action and fast fun.

Derby fans will also be able to enjoy a cold beer  and the halftime performance of  epic sword fighting by Ring of Steel, with our very own BlueStocking, Wholigan. Great prizes will be given away when you purchase a duck to chuck. A portion of bout proceeds will go to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ithaca & Tompkins County. BBBS’s Director, Joe Gibson, will start the season off by singing the national anthem.

So mark your calendars and come out to the bouts! Cheer on the familiar faces and find a new favorite among the fresh talent.

Home season dates for 2016 are: May 14th (at J.M. McDonald Sports Complex in Cortland), June 25th, July 16th, and August 20th (at Cass Park Rink in Ithaca). Our website will be updated with game start times, ithacarollerderby.com.
